After the failures of chemical plastic recycling, there's finally some good news on the circular economy front with the announcement of a textile project in Saint-Avold at Choose France 2025. Conor Hartman, global managing director at CIRC, and Guillaume Thomé, managing director for France, present the project in an interview with L'Usine Nouvelle.
FRANCE, May 19 (L'Usine Nouvelle) - In Saint-Avold (Moselle), one chemical recycling project may be hiding another. While the Loop/Suez initiative for chemical recycling of plastics has been put on hold, an American company, CIRC, is unleashing another ambitious project. This textile recycling startup based in Virginia indicates that it wants to build a chemical recycling plant for textiles there. A €450 million investment was announced at the Choose France summit on May 19, 2025.
